The popular “Seasons of Music” concert series continues Thursday, April 24, from 7-8:30 p.m. in the MacMillan Auditorium. The St. Paul Saints Baseball Club has provided family entertainment to the Twin Cities since 1993. Known for their outlandish promotions, the Saints are the only team in baseball with a live pig as its mascot (past swines have included Brat Farve, Hammy Davis, Jr., Garrison Squeallor and Boarack Ohama), an 80-year old nun who gives massages in the stands, and a hot tub above the left field fence.

Stars on Ice, featuring Davis and White along with their bronze medal winning teammates from the inaugural Olympic figure skating team event, will visit Saint Paul on Sunday, May 4 for a 4 p.m. performance at Xcel Energy Center.

Break of Reality will perform in the Main Hall Theater at the Ames Center on May 15th. Break of Reality is a cello rock band originally formed at the Eastman School of Music in 2003. Their sound is cinematic, subdued and heavy all at once, and their live audiences are equally diverse; fans of Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, and Yo‐Yo Ma are finally getting acquainted. The band is committed to music education, having performed at hundreds of public schools across the country, encouraging music students to explore all types of genres on their instruments. They have also developed the Break of Reality DIY Lecture Series, which was designed to empower budding classical musicians with practical, real world music business knowledge.

In keeping with its tradition of providing a BIG summer experience, the Minnesota Zoo has announced a first-of-its-kind exhibit for summer 2014–Big Bugs! Thirteen super-sized, animatronic bugs will invade the Zoo’s Northern Trail along with a live bug display and several fun, interactive elements. This FREE exhibit (with paid Zoo admission) will showcase a bug’s life and why bugs are important. The larger-than-life bugs, a new feature of Billings Productions of Allen, Texas, move through the use of pneumatics, systems operated by compressed air. Some of the bugs are interactive, including the pincer-controlling stag beetle or the water-spraying bombardier beetle. Big Bugs! at the Minnesota Zoo will run Memorial Weekend through Labor Day, 2014, and is made possible with support from the Clean Water, Land Legacy Amendment.
