Warmer weather doesn’t mean that ice skating has to go away! The Burnsville Ice Center’s annual Impressions on Ice Skating Show will be held on Friday, May 13 and Saturday May 14 at 7 p.m. The event is a collaboration between the Burnsville Ice Center’s “Learn to Skate” program and the Burnsville Minnesota Valley Figure Skating Club. This year’s theme is “Magical Memories on Ice.” Special guest performers include triple gold medalist, Amy Berglund and gold medal champion and aerial performer, Tam Bui. Tickets are available at the Ice Center or at www.burnsvilleicecenter.org. Reserved seating is available for $16 per person (available in person only) and general admission seating is available for Adults: $8; Student (5-17) $5; Seniors (62+) $5; 4 and under FREE.

The St. Paul Saints Baseball Club has provided family entertainment to the Twin Cities since 1993. Known for their outlandish promotions, the Saints are the only team in baseball with a live pig as its mascot (past swines have included Brat Farve, Hammy Davis, Jr., Garrison Squeallor and Boarack Ohama), an 80-year old nun who gives massages in the stands, and a hot tub above the left field fence. Nicollet Commons Park will soon be home to ASCENT, a 16-foot tall, stainless steel and bronze water feature boasting three soaring eagles. The statue, commissioned by the Burnsville Community Foundation, will represent “Giving Back” and “Community Service.” An unveiling event will be held on June 2, during I Love Burnsville Week.

The latest live album was recorded at last year’s New Year’s Eve show in Raleigh and includes 2 new songs – “Satan Pulls the Strings” and “Rejects in the Attic.” Their upcoming tour stops at Target Center in Minneapolis on Saturday, June 11.

This summer, if you’re looking for an active outdoor activity that’s more exciting than your typical Minneapolis 5k runs, check out the Xtreme Air 5k inflatable obstacle course race that’s coming to Buck Hill on Saturday, June 25, 2016. The race features 12 inflatable obstacles spread out over a 5k course with their top priority being that you have as much fun as possible in a safe environment. This race is meant to be inclusive and is appropriate for a wide variety of ages and fitness levels. Whether you are gunning to push yourself to your own limits or prefer to walk between obstacles or even skip obstacles that do not interest you, they encourage everyone to come out and have fun on our unique inflatable obstacle course.
