Ordway Center: Grey Gardens (2009)
March 17-May 17, 2009
Grey Gardens brings to life the delightfully eccentric aunt and cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Once among the brightest names in the pre-Camelot social register, these two women became East Hampton's most notorious recluses, living in a dilapidated twenty-eight-room mansion. Set in two eras — 1941 when the estate was in its prime, and 1973 when it was reduced to squalor — the musical tells the alternately hilarious and heartbreaking story of the two indomitable women, Edith Bouvier Beale and her adult daughter "Little" Edie. Co-Produced with Park Square Theatre
Ordway Extras: Take an imaginary behind the scenes look with Producing Artistic Director James Rocco at how the fascinating lives of Edith and "Little" Edie came to be. A great prelude to your performance experience.
