Then head across the road to see the giant Percherons. Take a first-hand look at the daily operations of maintaining these magnificent horses. Next you will want to enjoy a hearty lunch at OK Corral Restaurant, while viewing fascinating western artifacts including original western oil paintings, sculptures of Wyatt Earp and his brothers and the original clock from the bar in Tombstone, AZ.
After lunch, you will want to visit the Crofut Family Winery and Vineyard in Jordon. The winery is nationally recognized for its wines. Tours include video presentations, tour of the vineyards and winemaking facility and will conclude with a wine tasting. On your way to Burnsville, stop in at Emma Krumbee’s Great Scarecrow Festival in Belle Plain. Here, you will be able to take a wagon ride through the orchard and past the display of over 100 scarecrows. You may also pick-your-own apples or choose pre-picked apples, and of course enjoy apple pie ala mode at the restaurant.
Once in Burnsville, it will be time to check into your hotel, and rest up before the evening festivities. Make your own stir-fry creation at bd’s Mongolian Grill, and after attend a performance at the Burnsville Performing Art Center. Take time before the performance to enjoy the beautiful views of downtown Minneapolis and take in the setting at Nicollet Commons Park in Burnsville’s Heart of the City.
Day 2:
Today visit the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum featuring more than 1,000 acres of display gardens and extensive plant and tree collections. Enjoy an interesting, narrated ride on the Trumpet Creeper Tram. Take time to browse through the visitor center featuring plant exhibits and art exhibits. Be sure to visit the gift shop and enjoy lunch in the Arboretum Restaurant.
The afternoon can be spent on a narrated cruise on Lake Minnetonka on the historic sternwheeler, Lady of the Lake.
Head back to your Burnsville Hotel to freshen up. Then, it's off to the Old Log Theater, beautifully set amidst trees and water, for a delicious dinner and humorous play.
Day 3:
Today is the day to experience the sights and sounds of 16th century Europe at the popular Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Enjoy fantastic food and beautiful, handmade wares. Entertainment abounds with storytellers, mimes, magicians, gypsys and fortunetellers. Comedy acts and live jousting add to the celebration.
After a long day, it is time to head back to your Burnsville hotel to "fall" asleep!
Day 4:
After an early breakfast at your hotel, it’s time to check out. On your way out of town, stop by Sever’s Corn Maze & Fall Festival in Shakopee. Make your way through America’s largest corn maze, and after, experience farm life on a tour of six barns filled with live turkeys, chickens, roosters, sheep and goats. Before heading on your way, be sure to catch the live pig races, music and shows in the courtyard. It will be time to depart and head for home, taking with you wonderful memories of a beautiful Twin Cities Autumn.
