Summer sizzles in Minnesota and this tour is on fire with fun activities. Visit interesting neighboring rivertowns and other communities with wonderful tour stops. Take a fascinating Minneapolis Saint Paul City Tour and learn the history and heartbeat of this metropolitan area.

Sizzling Summer Experience

Day 1:

Visit some of Minnesota's fascinating cities. Start out in historic Red Wing, known for pottery, antiques and a beautiful riverfront. Visit the historic mall on the riverfront, see master potters at the wheel at the Red Wing Stoneware Company and Red Wing Pottery. Stop at antique stores, specialty shops and unique stores including the Red Wing Shoe Store on Main Street. Enjoy lunch at the historic St. James Hotel.

Head for Burnsville and check into your Burnsville Hotel. Relax before the evening’s activities. Tonight, enjoy a delicious dinner and fun-filled play at the Old Log Theater.

Day 2:

Today, take an exciting Minneapolis Saint Paul City Tour with a knowledgeable guide. Hear about unique characters from history and tales of the Mississippi River. Drive past famous sites including the Sculpture Garden; Nicollet Mall; Mary Tyler Moore's TV house; the Governor's Residence; F. Scott Fitzgerald's house and Summit Avenue, the longest street of Victorian homes in the nation. Stop at the Minnesota State Capitol and Cathedral of Saint Paul.

Enjoy lunch on your own at Mall of America. Take time to browse and shop at the largest indoor entertainment and retail complex in the nation.

Next, stop at Abdallah Chocolates in Burnsville to see the hand-molding and hand-dipping process of candy making through a large display window, browse through unique gift items and purchase sweet treats at discount prices. Stop at your Burnsville Hotel to refresh and relax.

Tonight, allow yourselves to be pampered with a delicious meal at Chateau Lamothe in Burnsville.

Day 3:

Today, explore Stillwater, the lovely, historic rivertown on the St. Croix that’s renown for antiques and specialty stores including rare book stores. Have lunch at a restaurant overlooking the beautiful St. Croix River. Take the trolley or a city tour to learn about the city's history and the "painted ladies", the historic mansions in Stillwater.

Head back to Burnsville. Stop at Touch of Countree to browse through home decor and more, or AntiQues Minnesota to browse past row after row of lighted glass cases filled with antiques.

Tonight, have dinner at one of Burnsville's fine restaurants and enjoy a Broadway production at the State or Orpheum Theatres or the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts.

Day 4:

Stop in Owatonna to tour the State School Orphanage Museum, Minnesota's only state orphanage and possibly only orphanage museum in the country. Enjoy an interesting presentation by a former resident through a video, pictures and artifacts. Head for home with wonderful memories of your "Sizzling Summer Experience".
