Around the World in 3 Days

Day 1:

After checking into your Burnsville hotel, take a trip to Sweden via Minneapolis, by touring the American Swedish Institute. The mansion is an example of early 20th century chateausque architecture. Then take a self guided tour of the Basilica of Saint Mary. The Basilica is a national historic site and features French architecture and Italian marble sculptures. This evening enjoy dinner at Roasted Pear and head downtown Minneapolis for a show at the Theater in the Round, where the unique stage is modeled after stages the ancient Greek once performed on.

Day 2:

Get an early start to your day by exploring the Minnesota Zoo, home to Russia’s Grizzly Coast and the all new Penguins of the African Coast. Enjoy lunch at the Zoo, and afterwards rest your feet while attending a show at the Great Clips IMAX Theatre.

Spend the rest of the day back in town for the International Festival of Burnsville, where you will celebrate with people from all corners of the world. There will be a variety of live entertainment showcased, with great food and festivities. This event is held in the beautiful Heart of the City at Nicollet Commons Park on the third Saturday of June.

Day 3:

Begin your day with a Down In History “No Blarney” tour, at the Wabasha Street Caves in St. Paul, where an Irish saint or sinner will guide you, and teach you about St. Paul’s Irish heritage, including how Irish immigrants influenced architecture, politics, and religion. While in St. Paul, you will then venture over to the Cathedral of Saint Paul which is modeled after Saint Peter’s in Rome. The Cathedral is the first national shrine in honor of the Apostle Paul. No visit to St. Paul would be complete without a visit to the Minnesota State Capitol. Enjoy a guided tour of the working masterpiece by acclaimed architect Cass Gilbert with a viewing of the golden horses. On your return to Burnsville, you will want to make time to browse at AntiQues Minnesota, which has a modern gallery for antiques and vintage collectibles. Complete your day with a fun and exotic dining experience at The Mediterranean Cruise Café, complete with belly dancing and many original delicacies from Jerusalem, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Italy, Turkey and Greece.

Day 4:

Return home with marvelous memories of your "Around the World in 3 Days" tour.
