Don't your groups just LOVE theater productions? This tour will fill your need for great theater options combined with unique, unusual and fascinating tour stops!

Theater Lights & Unique Sights

Day 1:

Arrive in Burnsville with a stop at Abdallah Candies & Gifts to sample platters of chocolates and see the hand-dipping and hand-molding process of candy making through a large display window. Each tour member receives a four-piece sampler upon departure. Check into your Burnsville Hotel to relax and refresh for the evening's activities.

Later this afternoon, take in a chef cooking demonstration at the International Chefs' Culinary Center and dine on the delicious results. Then, it's off to the Plymouth Playhouse for a humorous fun-filled play. Recent productions include "How to Talk Minnesotan", "Church Basement Ladies" and currently "Church Basement Ladies A Second Helping".

Day 2:

Today, visit Lakewood Cemetery & Chapel to tour the Byzantine-style chapel and marvel at the mosaic work, considered to be the finest examples of mosaic work in the nation. Breathtakingly beautiful. Next, your step-on guide will take you through this upscale cemetery to the grave sites of Hubert H. Humphrey, the Pillsburys of Pillsbury flour notoriety, Franklin Mars, creator of the Mars and Milky Way candy bars, Tiny Tim and many more. This tour has been called one of the "Top Ten Tours" in the Twin Cities. Stop to admire the Lake Harriet Rose Garden located nearby.

Or, visit Northern Clay Center to learn about the process of making ceramic art and the techniques and equipment used. See current exhibitions, classrooms, glazing areas, studio spaces and the kiln room. Gain an understanding of the process of creating and firing clay objects. See work from various artists.

Then, it's off to the Old Log Theater for a delicious lunch and a fun-filled, humorous matinee at the nation's largest continuously running theater. Stop at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden to tour the nation's largest outdoor sculpture garden - a great spot for photos.

Next, return to your Burnsville Hotel to rest and refresh before visiting Midtown Global Market, a marvelous collection of 50 vendors from all different ethnic groups together under one roof. Enjoy unique browsing and shopping experiences and dinner on your own. Choose from a hamburger and malt, or ethnic dishes from Scandinavia, Vietnam, Greece, South Africa and more.

Day 3:

This morning visit Grace Church for a guided tour of a new "megachurch". View the worship center with seating for 4,500 people, see the bookstore and restaurant on-site. Arrange for an organ recital.

Next stop is Valley Natural Foods in Burnsville for a "Taste the Organic Difference" and healthy lifestyle choices tour complete with organic food samples. Enjoy lunch with choices of soups, sandwiches, wraps, salads, hot entrees and more in the deli or, schedule a buffet lunch for your group in the dining area.

Next, take a guided tour of the Minneapolis Central Library featuring the largest public library collections in the country including 162,000 volumes of fiction, 5,300 magazine subscriptions, reading and learning materials in 20 world languages, and the second largest cookbook collection in the U.S. and much more.

Then it's back to Burnsville for a stop at Touch of Home Furnishings to browse through handcrafted items, antiques and collectibles, wreaths, candles and more set amidst lovely furnishings. Head back to your Burnsville Hotel to refresh before the evening's activities.

Tonight, take a fascinating back-stage tour, then sit down to a delicious dinner and enjoy a fantastic full-scale musical production at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres.

Day 4:

Return home with wonderful memories of your "Theater Lights & Unique Sights" tour.
